This is a good idea -- but that's what "gnustep-env" is for. I hesitate to make a "gnustep" ebuild since gnustep.org itself refuses to see itself as a desktop environment. Otherwise, I honestly would already have done this, but wrapping external applications into a "gnustep" package, would give users the wrong sense of what gnustep is. For e.g., "gnustep" is required to run various apps/libs, such as gsweb and (mostly) opengroupware. However, neither of these apps requires GWorkspace, for e.h. `emerge gnustep-env` will give one a fully working gnustep environment. If you want to make a desktop environment that acts next-like emerge gnustep-env and windowmaker, and maybe gworkspace. |
