Description Pupeno 2005-01-31 20:32:53 UTC
Like there's a kde that contains almost all the KDE ebuilds (the most important ones), it'd be nice if there's an ebuild called just gnustep that would contain (allmost?) all the GNUstep ebuilds, so just runnign `emerge gnustep` would leave a system with a full GNUstep.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

This is a good idea -- but that's what "gnustep-env" is for.

I hesitate to make a "gnustep" ebuild since gnustep.org itself refuses to see itself as a desktop environment. Otherwise, I honestly would already have done this, but wrapping external applications into a "gnustep" package, would give users the wrong sense of what gnustep is. For e.g., "gnustep" is required to run various apps/libs, such as gsweb and (mostly) opengroupware. However, neither of these apps requires GWorkspace, for e.h.

`emerge gnustep-env` will give one a fully working gnustep environment. If you want to make a desktop environment that acts next-like emerge gnustep-env and windowmaker, and maybe gworkspace.
