I have come across a pretty serious bug when trying to swith to an SELinux profile on my system. I have made numerous attempts changing different things, the result is always the same. The kernel is booted with the following parameters... Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-5.10.49-gentoo-r1-nextgen-007 root=/dev/vda4 ro console=ttyS0,115200n8 security=selinux selinux=1 enforcing=0 It occurs when this first step from the wiki installation guide is ran... FEATURES="-selinux" emerge -1 selinux-base As soon as that is done the system is enforcing... # getenforce Enforcing This happens despite setting enforcing to 0 with the boot parameter. It is clearly set at this 1st stage of the install. This prevents the next step in the installation wiki from working... >>> Installing (1 of 1) sec-policy/selinux-base-2.20200818-r2::gentoo !!! Failed to move /var/tmp/portage/sec-policy/selinux-base-2.20200818- r2/image/etc/selinux/config to /etc/selinux/config !!! [Errno 61] No data available I cannot simply set `setenforce 0` to get it working and out of Enforcing, as I am in the wrong context for it. At this early stage of the install it seems impossible to change what that context will be. # setenforce 0 setenforce: setenforce() failed This is what I get when I try to see what context I am in... # id -Z id: --context (-Z) works only on an SELinux-enabled kernel Because of these errors I am unable to install SELinux, though I can disable SELinux through /sys # echo 1 > /sys/fs/selinux/disable My emerge --info output (with SELinux disabled at runtime)...
