It looks like the domain for the US rsync server hosted by Silicon Valley Web Hosting is no longer valid.  Tested against two large/well-known DNS providers:

# nslookup rsync30.us.gentoo.org 9.9.9.9
Server:         9.9.9.9
Address:        9.9.9.9#53

** server can't find rsync30.us.gentoo.org: NXDOMAIN

# nslookup rsync30.us.gentoo.org 8.8.8.8
Server:         8.8.8.8

bump; this server is still down and still listed at https://www.gentoo.org/support/rsync-mirrors/#US and a user in IRC #gentoo just asked why it wasn't working
