It appears soko does not yet correctly parse EAPI 8 ebuilds. See for example https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/app-admin/ananicy

I suspect this was fixed in some point, quite hard now to understand when and where.
I'll close the bug, but if you notice some issue with EAPI=8 support, please open a new bug and I will handle it.
