After modprobing dm-mod /dev/mapper does not get created, and all device mapper related commands fail.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. modprobe dm-mod
2. ls /dev/mapper/
3.

Actual Results:  
file or directory not found

What version of udev are you using?

Is there a /sys/class/* file that is called mapper?

`ls /sys/class/ | grep mapper` turns up nothing and I'm using udev version 030.
