Description Matthias Langer 2005-01-30 13:33:15 UTC
When I try to open a vob file with totem, the app completly freezes. After I tried to wait 10 seconds to give the app the change to do something more complicated I had eaven to do a hard reset. When watching what is going on with the system monitor I noticed the the amount of memory consumed by totem is the reason for freezing the whole system. Only about 3 seconds after openenig a vob totem allready consumes about 130MB. Maybe a memory leak ?

By the way i using xine-lib-1.0 and totem-0.100. From mplayer or xine-ui playing vob files works.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start totem
2. open a vob file
3. close the app before it's too late and you have to do a hard reboot
Actual Results:
The app freezes ...

Expected Results:
Play a movie

xine backend is more a media-video thing...

Try with xine-ui to see if the problem is with xine-lib or totem please.

Please tell which backend are you using and reopen if it's still an issue with
latest version of the backend.

Sorry for my late answer: Now [ can't tell my setup when this problem appeared ]
I use totem-0.100-r3, xine-lib-1.0-r2, gstreamer-0.8.9-r3 and gst-plugins-0.8.8.
Totem now playes vob files without freezing the system - allthough without
sound, but I think that this is most likley a problem of my setup [ maybe
missing plugin ]. As far as I'm concerned, I would leave this bug closed ...
