Description Maarten Wisse 2005-01-28 01:34:39 UTC
When anywhere in KDE, you press Ctrl-P:

1. Under Properties of my Postscript level 2 capable Kyocera Mita 1010FS, I can specify psnup options (2 pages on 1 etc.) but only blank pages are printed. On my system psutils are not installed.

Perhaps, this has also to do with:

2. When you try to do something under the tab Copies, field, Copies, that is, specify number of copies, sort, or reversed, nothing happens.

So, psutils, and perhaps also the package poster mentioned in the url above, should be a dependency of kdelibs or base, I'm not sure. It should also be a dependency of kdeprint in 3.4.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

The url above does not seem relevant, is it correct?

Maybe this can be closed as a duplicate of bug 30133?

No, it's not a duplicate of bug 30133. The url points out that in debian, psnup is a requirement of of kdeprint. However, the problems seems to be cause by something else than psutils. I looked at the forums, and a lot of people have difficulties to do psnup with kdeprint, but it is a bit unclear why. It seems kdeprint presumes CUPS can do it, and therefore, leaves the option available, but still, it doesn't succeed. Especially the blank page printing issues is reported several times.

If that's the reason (as it seems from reading here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45380)
then it should be reported as a kde/CUPS bug...

Closing, I think this should addressed by kde folks (if it has not yet)
