emerge —-info? This was reproducible on 2 systems with the USE flag enabled, and both passed with it disabled. Can't you reproduce it? Can't you reproduce it? Not sure what good emerge > --info does here. This is why I always ask for it up front: - I don’t really want to start investigating something and then it turns out I could use some information that a full bug report would contain. The Bugzilla text mentions it for a reason, it’s just part of all the info needed. Sometimes it’s useful, sometimes it isn’t, but I’d rather have it available personally. It’s a pain when you try to chase up something after a while and not all the info was in the bug. - Checking e.g ~arch vs arch - The same arguments against could be applied so that you could just show the failing USE combination without a log. Things can look obvious until they’re not. - I’ve been stuck several times in the past until I notice a strange (maybe old, maybe masked, or maybe just different to mine) version of e.g CMake in —-info. (recent good examples include brand new CMakes breaking some applications, new binutils being broken, ...) - It’s pretty cheap to provide and saves a lot of time. Maybe we should have some option for build.log to contain it automatically to make semi-automated reporting easier? Thanks for providing it! I hope this better explains why I always ask for it - it’s genuinely not pedantry, I would find it seemingly pointless too if it hadn’t actually helped me several times before. Well from my POV I already did the groundwork and am pretty confident about what's causing the issue (at least in here), so everything "additional" just feels like noise to me. But you make a good point about gcc, binutils, glibc etc versions being visible, and what arch is the system running. > > - It’s pretty cheap to provide and saves a lot of time. (Need to ask ago). For the record, that'd be +1 from me :) *** Bug 836158 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** The bug has been closed via the following commit(s): https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=ab00e6f2f32285976c6e33aca91e0d8e224bfdae commit ab00e6f2f32285976c6e33aca91e0d8e224bfdae Author: Ionen Wolkens <ionen@gentoo.org> AuthorDate: 2023-01-21 13:54:06 +0000 Commit: Ionen Wolkens <ionen@gentoo.org> CommitDate: 2023-01-21 15:08:00 +0000 games-arcade/performous: add 1.2.0 While this has a new meson.build, not migrating to meson given support was short lived and master is cmake-only again.
