Description Ronan Mullally 2005-01-17 03:33:56 UTC
I've used various current versions of transcode (masked and unmasked) to mpeg4 a few DVDs. When trying to play these AVIs with various current verions of mplayer (again, masked and unmasked) I get the following:

Cache fill: x.yz% (nnnnnn bytes) AVI file format detected.
AVI: ODML: Building odml index (2 superindexchunks)

mplayer will sit like this for 90-120 seconds then seg fault.

A bit of googling turned up:

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.mplayer.user/34065

Which refers to a patch at http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=86
I've applied this patch (to aviheader.c) and it has fixed the problem on mplayer-1.0pre6.

Please incorporate this patch into future ebuilds.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. transcode a DVD using a current transcode
2. Try and play it with mplayer
3.

Actual Results:
Seg fault
