Description Jan Baklo 2021-04-12 08:52:48 UTC
some time ago, I made several world updates during the week and did not notice that the sounds stopped working in guest systems on qemu. When I open Pulse Audio Volume Control, there are absent volume controls for virtual machines in "Playback" panel. Here is a list of suspected packages:

1617737724: >>> emerge (91 of 104) app-emulation/spice-0.14.3-r1 to /
1617738544: >>> emerge (94 of 104) app-emulation/qemu-5.2.0-r50 to /
1617738765: >>> emerge (95 of 104) app-emulation/libvirt-7.2.0 to /
1617738882: >>> emerge (97 of 104) app-emulation/libvirt-glib-4.0.0 to /
1617738899: >>> emerge (98 of 104) dev-python/libvirt-python-7.2.0 to /

but I'm not even sure which package to downgrade to get the sounds to work. Can someone tell me what exactly created the problem, because there are no hints in the system log, other host sounds does still work, althrough there are some problems that have occurred (perhaps this is somehow related to the absence of sounds in virtual machines), but I cannot it's easy to describe and maybe it just not necessary now.

Reproducible: Always

It is sad to read that you have problems with the software. The situation seems to be a bit more complicate and requires some analysis.
We can not help you efficiently via bug tracker. The bug tracker aims rather on specific problems in .ebuilds and less on individual systems.

I have had very good experience on the gentoo IRC [1] with questions like this. Of course there are also forums and mailing lists [2,3].
I hope you understand, that I will close the bug here therefore and wish you good luck on one of the mentioned channels [4].
Please reopen the ticket in order to provide an indication for an specific error in an ebuild or any gentoo related product.
