Description Nir Lavi 2005-01-13 20:49:58 UTC
Recently I've been playing around with the world profile and I found out that seeing which package is going to be added to the world profile is a feature I'm quite missing.
I can imagine this feature as a sign near what is going to happen to the package (installed, reinstalled, installed in another slot...) in "emerge -vp" and "emerge -av".
I hope this feature is easy to implement as it can be a very handy feature

Reproducible: Always

Unless you use the --oneshot (or -1) option, anything you give to emerge on the commandline *will* be added to the world file. That's the whole point.

Putting a hold on feature requests for portage as they are drowning out the
bugs. Most of these features should be available in the next major version of
portage. But for the time being, they are just drowning out the major bugs and
delaying the next version's progress.

Any bugs that contain patches and any bugs for etc-update or dispatch-conf can
be reopened. Sorry, I'm just not good enough with bugzilla. ;)
