It's a race-condition-like issue introduced by >=autoconf-2.70 (see recent similar issues on the tracker). It's especially rare that courier-imap fails (unlike others), and it may be straight up impossible to reproduce depending on hardware. So far it's believed the issue lies with autoconf rather than the packages, so there's nothing to do here.
