In an attempt at stage1 bootstrap to try and fix my glibc missing stack_check_guard, gettext hangs. Last entry in the build log is the following, and the build hangs endlessly:
checking whether printf() supports POSIX/XSI format strings...

Reproducible: Always

We need build.log and emerge --info and ideally ps showing the hanging process, possibly with strace.

But... like I said, this is going down the wrong track. Let's focus on fixing your glibc and reply to slyfox: bug 774327#c3.
