Did you set a root password when installing? What do you have on the screen when it locks? Assuming you DO have your root password set, and you're getting PAM errors when you try to log in.... This is a known issue with PPC and Stage 3 installs. Reboot with the LiveCD and mount up your partitions as outlined in the install guide, and chroot. Add "pam" to your USE flags in make.conf, and emerge shadow. Once that finishes, you'll need to remerge pam and pam-login. After that's finished, exit chroot, unmount, reboot. This should be fixed in 2005.0, if this is still a problem, feel free to reopen this bug. The stages are available at: http://dev.gentoo.org/~pvdabeel/2005.0/ Thanks!
