post gdm logs in /var/log/gdm/* . Are you positive its not some tmpdir thing where you have set your permissions wrong ? I am not sure to be honest. I have been doing some fiddling around since then and I think it may have been a problem with my stage2 tarball (it was 2004.3 for athlon xp), since when I did an 'emerge -e system', all the issues I'd been having seemed to straighten themselves out. Maybe it was the USE flags the stage2 tarball was compiled with? Sorry I don't have the problem to fiddle with anymore.. maybe if anyone else comes across it they should try 'emerge -e system' though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help there's not much bug left to handle then, closing. |
