Bug 76148

Summary: mlview (0.7.1) crashes while editing XML file and selecting an empty node
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Norman Thomas <news>
Component: Current packagesAssignee: Gentoo Linux Gnome Desktop Team <gnome>
Status: RESOLVED NEEDINFO
Severity: normal CC: allanonjl

OS: Linux

Runtime testing required: ---
Attachments: strace output ["strace mlv"]

Description Norman Thomas 2004-12-30 08:47:31 UTC
I emerges mlview several times now with different CFLAGS. Now I compiled it without CFLAGS [just CFLAGS="-g"] and with the USE-Flag debug. Before I compiled it with CFLAGS="" and USE="debug". But with the same result. Although no optimizations are selected the app crashes while editing a file.
In particular it seems to crash as soon as I try to select an empty node (a node without sub-nodes).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load an XML file
2. Select a node, that does not have a sub-node

Actual Results:
mlview does not react anymore -> need to kill

The output of "strace mlv" is viewable here ->
http://www.hiroki.de/gentoo/mlv.strace

Expected Results:
I should be able to select that node (and edit it)

Created attachment 47218 [details]
strace output ["strace mlv"]

OK, I just add it as attachement instead.

I can't reproduce this error, could you supply an xml file that causes this crash for you? ( also can't find anything in gnome bugzilla about this issue with mlview ) Thanks!
