mmh sometimes it works. If you can't reproduce it, close the page and try again 4-5 times. Did you try it w/o any plugins? This is most likely something you should report to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Chances are its a dodgy plugin crashing firefox. Please disable all plugins via Edit --> Preferences --> Downloads --> Plugins and let us know what effect this has. Freetype 2.1.9 ? Firefox is crashing on www.ati.com and my bank among other sites. It's got something to do with the fonts they are using, and there's an open bug for it in mozilla's bugzilla. freetype-2.1.9-r1 here. FYI, freetype-2.1.9 is known to be buggy. Please try updating it. Similar behavior here visiting several sites including ati.com, vmware.com, and the J2SE javadoc pages. No change was seen doing the following: * Recompiling mozilla-firefox-1.0-r3 * Disabling all extensions * Removing profile directory The previous two attachments are the output to console from firefox when its compiled with the debug use flag and is sent to those sites. My vmware Windows firefox instance has no problem visiting the previously mentioned sites. They're suppsoed to have been addressed in mozilla-firefox-1.0-r3 and freetype-2.1.9-r1, which were both what I had installed. However, downgrading to freetype 2.1.5-r1 immediately solved my problems, going to a known bad URL worked with 2.1.5-r1. Reinstalling 2.1.9-r1 caused the URL to once again crash the browser. I tried compiling 2.1.9-r1 with the debug flag but wasn't able to get any additional information. I can confirm the problem exists between the Firefox and Freetype libraries, however. I had the same problem and can confirm that downgrading freetype from 1.2.9 fixed the problem. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 75879 *** |
