I attempted to start KDE 3.3.1 on my desktop, running nVidia's 6629 drivers, and I received a warning about being unable to load glx. Since it was a warning, I ignored it, and waited for KDE to start.

KDE started, and I started Firefox. The result can be seen in the URL posted as an example of the problem. When I click on Firefox, its colors would normalize, but the remaining portion of the screen would become just as oddly discolored as the Firefox window was.

All apps I have run have had the same difficulty. Is this nVidia, KDE, or Xorg's problem?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start KDE.
2. Open a window.
3. Click on it.

Actual Results:  
The background became discolored, while the foreground window ceased being
discolored.

Expected Results:  
Neither the background nor the foreground should have been discolored in the
first place.

you are almost certainly running at 8bpp.  try setting DefaultDepth to something higher and restarting X.

Confirmed. I'm horribly sorry for not closing this bug after I confirmed the fix.
