Bug 75424 documents this.

Freetype-2.1.9 has long had many problems, namely it was binary incompatible, which was fixed.  More importantly it corrupts most fonts.  So until this bug is fixed, it should be remasked.

As the old saying goes.. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

freetype-2.1.5-r1 should be used instead until font corruption is gone.  Unless someone can prove 2.1.9 has something special that it HAS to be left in.

Gimp 2.2 requires >= freetype 2.1.7. So that should probably become the unmasked version.

why do you create a dupe when you freaking know about it... even more bugspam and don't CC me without asking.

This has nothing todo with ABI compatability which is not even an issue here.

Yeah, devs screwed up on this one.. thats why i filed it, because when I see something that should have CLEARLY never been unmasked, that makes me angry and you recieve an angry bug report about it.

As for this being spam? Foser should know.
