Description fjmccloud 2004-12-22 01:42:28 UTC
While xmms-1.2.10-r9 is a big improvement over the previous one (see the bug about low bitrate playback), the playlist highlights don't appear correctly when jumping between tracks using the left/right arrow buttons.

If you actually click on a playlist item, it highlights it correctly.
However, using left/right arrow buttons causes the highlight to lag on previous tracks.

It is possible to have 3 conditions simultaneously:
1. original mp3 is highlighted with a blue bar
2. next mp3 is highlighted with white text
3. current mp3 is playing.

Please see the PNG file for an example of this. Note that the current mp3 is different from either of the 2 that are highlighted in the playlist.

Changing mouse focus back and forth sometimes corrects the highlight.
Is xmms correctly communicating window updates to whatever controls the playlist display?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start xmms-1.2.10-r9
2. play any mp3
3. click on the left or right arrows to jump to another mp3. The highlights will lag.
4. remove the mouse focus and return it; sometimes the highlights correct themselves

Actual Results:
Playlist looks incorrect and laggy.

Expected Results:
Current mp3 should be highlighted always, just as it is when you click on a
particular mp3 directly in the playlist.

another item on the ever growing todo list... I wish xmms was better maintained upstream =(
Comment 2 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-30 10:27:07 UTC
Jeremy is right. This happens with -r15 version too ? I'm closing for now as
can't fix. If this continue i will report a bug to upstream.
Thanks
