Essentially I don't want to install friggin tcsh when I install OpenOffice.org, and lots of clueless people shouldn't be installing it either.  As the documentation on that website indicates, bash is capable of executing the csh scripts and it is csh, not tcsh that is the dependency.  I strongly recommending checking for bash, and if bash does not exist making tcsh/csh the depend

Try it out and you will say that it fails, the configure script explicitely checks for tcsh, trying to get rid of this results in a build failure. If you have a patch for the ebuild which works without tcsh, please reopen this bug, until this: Closing
