It seems to me it's a too strict request by the package authors: it's a warning, not an error. Just my opinion. to add something to comment #2: according to the Gentoo development manual, chapter "Common Mistakes", there is a section concerning the "-werror" removal. I think that, for a production package, "-Wl,--fatal-warnings" falls in the same category: it's not exactly the same thing, but it falls in the same rationale. As always, just my opinion. |
