With the commit 5a4de0cb8a5a2c58023c58167b14996352461dda (see Link) the ebuild suddenly requires the installation of Java8 although this worked with Java11 before.

Please fix this.

it might work fine with java 11 but it does not compile with it. it compiles only with java 9. or it compiles/compiled for you with java 11?

Then please make an update to version 2.2, which should support newer Java versions.

please file bump request. closing this one as invalid as the way it is is correct, the problem is we don't have an up-to-date version in the tree.
