you are aware that portage can't handle RPM's (redhat package manager), right? gentoo != redhat there are other problems with this package. the license is specially tailored to the orginization. furthermore, this org does not seem to have its act together AT ALL! the sourceforge page (https://sourceforge.net/projects/trustedqsl/) says its licensed LGPL, and then says its "written in an interpertated language" which is apparently C++? also, user interface claims to be "MS Windows"... nevertheless, there is decent (read: non-rpm) source at http://www.arrl.org/lotw/tqsllib-1.4.tar.gz and http://www.arrl.org/lotw/TrustedQSL-1.10.tar.gz, so i will write up an ebuild in a moment ok. nevermind... first of all, the source packages i cited claimed a special license that we would have to add to the main license files, which would be a pain thats not a big deal, but what is a big deal is i can't get it to do anything! i can get it to compile using ./configure;make -f Makefile.lib, but then i can find no way to install these (no make install, nothing), or even for it to tell us where it should be installed. the end of the readme/todo says "configuration and makefile need work". yeah! they need finishing. how was this ever released? thus, i can't do it. sorry chap I will refer the problems upstream. I will issue a new bug once the changes upstream are completed. I would like to ask that this TrustedQSL application and library be added to Portage, in order to use ARRL's Logbook of the World. Thank-you! |
