Description Benjamin Collins 2004-12-18 11:37:23 UTC
This bug may be related to #45487.

boost-jam does not work properly after installation via ebuild. typing `bjam' on the commandline returns this error:

[12.18.04 13:32:40 bc@yoda embot]$ bjam
Unable to load Boost.Build: could not find "boost-build.jam"
---------------------------------------------------------------
Attempted search from /home/bc/projects/embot up to the root
and in these directories from BOOST_BUILD_PATH and BOOST_ROOT: /usr/share/boost/v2.
Please consult the documentation at 'http://www.boost.org'.

There is no such directory '/usr/share/boost/v2', even if boost is installed.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. run bjam
2.
3.

overlooked installation of the tools when focusing of libs and headers being installed on all arches, never having used bjam myself, this was not noticed, fixed ebuild is compiling now, should be up shortly if nothing stops me from doing so, shortly == time it takes my box to compile boost ;)
~45 minutes

ok, /usr/share/boost/* is now there, bjam works

thank you for reporting this
