Description Hubert Kromer 2020-10-12 11:13:33 UTC
When display scaling is enabled, the icons on the icon grid (Super+A) are not scaled up, making the icons look tiny and the text below them unreadable. More details + screenshots can be found under by following the attached URL.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use HI-DPI screen and set scaling to f.e. 2x.
2. Launch the icon grid by pressing Super+A.
Actual Results:
The icons are very tiny, only 2-5 letters of the app name are visible.

Expected Results:
The app icons on the grid are scaled up to match the UI's DPI.

A patch has been created by the Gnome team: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/merge_requests/1420.diff
Applying the patch by placing it in the /etc/portage/patches/gnome-base/gnome-shell-3.36.5/ directory and running 'emerge -1v =gnome-base/gnome-shell-3.36.5' fixes the issue.

Looks to have been fixed long ago.
