I suppose should be assigned to some kernel developer, changing source to let user select ISA also on a 64 bit system. I think ISA support is necessary to use this chip, and to access to other MB resource. But I'm not an expert on that which kernel are you using? Using the 2.6.9-r9 x86_64 I found something about making nsc_ircc not depending upon ISA http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-amd64/2004-Oct/0189.html This is not a specific problem with gentoo's kernel patches, please file a bug for this at http://bugzilla.kernel.org 2.6.12 kernel version seems to fix that |
