Description Ryan Hill (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-12 21:46:58 UTC
"PyCHM is a package that provides bindings for Jed Wing's CHMLIB library.

chmlib is a small library designed for accessing MS ITSS files. The ITSS file format is used for Microsoft Html Help files (.chm), which have been the predominant medium for software documentation from Microsoft during the past several years, having superceded the previously used .hlp file format."

MS Help files notwithstanding, chm is a very popular format for ebooks (along with pdf). pychm 0.8.1 is a requirement of GnoCHM, a GTK based chm file viewer (ebuild pending).

there already exists bug #40114 for pychm 0.7.0 and 0.8.0, which weren't accepted. i've updated the 0.8.0 ebuild, so let me know what needs to be done to get this one into portage. :)

Reproducible: Always

The bug is still open, and nowhere does it say the package won't be accepted. Packages can only get added to the tree when there is a dev who is interested in adding and maintaining them.
