*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 72956 *** A duplicate of a WONTFIX. Now we're getting somewhere. Brilliant. Yeah. Brilliant. Like the choice to just arbitrarily REMOVE A WORKING EBUILD to replace it with ebuilds with BROKEN SOFTWARE. For no good reason. As a result of Brian Jackson's efforts, we have now removed any stable version of this driver from Portage. For what reason? He said it doesn't work with 2.6 kernels. However, that's what many people have been using, including myself - where did he get that information? I apologized before for asking this, but now it appears to be a valid question: in deciding on this recent course of action, are broken systems the goal? Again, I repeat, we HAD A WORKING EBUILD IN PORTAGE. Please restore it! |
