Hello, media-sound/whipper is expected to work with python 3.8. For example, official ArchLinux repositories ship it with 3.8 since December. The ebuild says this though:
PYTHON_COMPAT=( python3_{6,7} )
It is because when ebuild was merged, python3.8 wasn’t in portage tree I guess. Ebuild have to be updated.
