with the lack of the full build log before you tinkered around this report misses important info. Your report lacks more info requested in the bugreportform, please do read it next time & also is assigned to a herd is not the primary maintainer, please do not assign bugreports directly. it works here... a full build log might have been helpful... re-open if you can reproduce and have more information.. Full build report
-- adding full build report does it work after having the installation described in the build log you posted? Yes, because now I have the keys (seen at gconf-editor) that where added by: $ export GCONF_CONFIG_SOURCE=$(gconftool-2 --get-default-source) $ gconftool-2 --install-schema-file="/etc/gconf/schemas/gnomeicu.schemas" from the file /etc/gconf/schemas/gnomeicu.schemas (attached). I'm figuring out how to remove those keys, and unmerge + emerge again. By the way, I added those keys as an ORDINARY user and all my other ordinary users of my system can "see" those keys. Isn't this a security flaw? I'll do more tests on this later. Created attachment 45407 [details]
Gnomeicu schemas keys from the GNOME Desktop Environment
if you run it as root (I though you could only run --install-schema-file= as root?) it will create the stuff in /etc/gconf... the user prefs are in ~/.gconf. But if you run that command as a user and it works for every other user.. there is something pretty bizare going on... I agree! :-) ...let's go back to this other one later. Now, you could reproduce the error! This is what I did: myk@anasazi My Stuff $ gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /schemas/apps/gnomeicu myk@anasazi My Stuff $ gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/gnomeicu (OBS: I runned it as the user "myk" that is part of: myk@anasazi My Stuff $ groups tty wheel audio users) Then I unmerged and emerged again "gnomeicu" and the error message comes up again! I guess you can reproduce it there now, removing the keys you probably have from previus installs. I'm also adding the second emerge log file. Cheers. Created attachment 45410 [details]

Reopen if you can reproduce the problem with 0.99.10, this bug has been completely dead for 1 1/2 year. Thanks. |
