Description Rafal Rzepecki 2004-12-06 07:34:24 UTC
The input/joystick/gamecon driver as of 2.6.9-gentoo-r9 segfaults on insmod. This is a known bug in this driver, see http://rufus.hackish.org/wiki/gamecon for details and patch. I think the patch should be included in gentoo-dev-kernel.
Comment 1 Greg Kroah-Hartman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-06 09:21:44 UTC
Is the patch submitted to the main kernel.org tree? Is it already in the 2.6.10-rc3 kernel?

If so, please reopen this bug and attach the patch you want to have applied.
If not, please pester the developer to get the patch accepted upstream.
Comment 2 Rafal Rzepecki 2004-12-06 10:01:07 UTC
The page says the patch is accepted by Vojtech Pavlik (kernel input maintainer IIRC), but isn't in kernel yet. It's still true, it's not even in the bitkeeper repository yet.

That being said, the patch itself is a simple 3-line fix and does fix a fatal error. Please consider applying it or otherwise re-close the bug.
