Using XOrg v6.8.0-r3, when X is loaded all windows/menus are transparent and do not refresh on their own.

For example, if I resized a window, I would have to minimize it and the restore it to actually see it. The same if I had another window in top of it as the contents of the overlapping window will remain on the one(s) underneath.

This happens regardless of DE/WM (tried with KDE, Gnome, and Enlightenment)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compile XOrg v6.8.0-r3 on an i810/815 system

Actual Results:  
All windows are transparent except for text/icons, do not redraw/refresh correctly,

Expected Results:  
Windows should be opaque and behave normally in terms of refreshing/redrawing

Only work-around so far is to revert to v6.7.0-r3

Is this still a problem if you aren't using the composite extension?

As far as I know, the compositing extension is not active. This is a basic, fresh install of xOrg using the config generated by the xorgconfig program.

I also emerged xcompmgr and transset and disabled everything via those programs and nothing changes.

Attach your xorg.conf please, and /var/log/Xorg.0.log. A screenshot of this in action would be handy, too.

Also if you aren't using the composite extension, there's no point in having anything to do with transset and xcompmgr.

Will do. I just have to remove the 6.7.0-r3 binaries and replace them with the 6.8.0-r3 ones (I saved the packages so it will only take a few minutes). Should have those up tomorrow (Friday).

I emerged the transset and xcompmgr tools just to see if they could help me disable things in it.

Interestingly, when I switched back to v6.7.0-r3 which was working, I still had the transparency issue.

Hi guys,

If you put the option "NoAccel" in your xorg.conf, the problem should be gone (at least, for me it is).
I did a binary search of the XAA options. The ones that are broken:

ScanlineCPUToScreenColorExpandFill
ScreenToScreenCopy
SolidFillRect

So if you put only these lines:

Option "XaaNoScanlineCPUToScreenColorExpandFill"
Option "XaaNoScreenToScreenCopy"
Option "XaaNoSolidFillRect"

in your xorg.conf, everything should still work, only the three accelleration options are disabled...

I hope this helps you to track down the problem...
