This ebuild works for building MPlayer on my computer, an OSX 10.3.6 machine.  Not all the USE options work (haven't played with them yet), but MPlayer builds, installs, and seems to work well.  I am having issues with libfaad specifically, but things are good other than that.

I tried to make an ebuild for mplayer-1.0_pre6, see bug #85728.
It seems that you can compile with libprocpost, you just have to set SHARED_PP to no.
