It works this side. Even everybody else I asked, as I had problems with it locking, and they all have it locking up with flash pages as well, or working. Anyhow, try to merge netscape-flash-5.0.48, as that seems to fix the locking issues at least. Afaik flash uses java. If java is a no-go, then so is flash (/opt/netscape/plugins/ShockwaveFlash.class is a java binary). same things for me : - no plugins worked with mozilla-1.1 (pdf, flash, java) I've unmerged mozilla-1.1 and plugins packages, remerge mozilla-1.0 and plugins, now flash and pdf plugins are ok so it seems to be a problem with mozilla or the ebuild I'm on gentoo 1.4rc1, mozilla is compiled with gtk2 and -O3 for an athlon cpu fresh install of Gentoo 1.4rc1 on an athlon xp (-march=athlon-xp -mcpu=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe) except the gcc32-compiled java-plugin (sun-j2sdk), neither of the other plugins show up in about:plugins , nor do they work . When loading a page with java content, mozilla will exit with: INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not open display! System error?:: Success Of course the DISPLAY is open (otherwise mozilla wouldnt start anyway). Whats interesting is even when startin mozilla-bin without the wrapper, it will not spit out any errors about plugins. Still anything plugin related does not work at all. remove gtk2 flag from USE in /etc/make.conf and recompile mozilla. this works for me. |
