The assumption that "`ctest -j 7` will work for this project" is not valid here: 1. The tests need a custom environment (custom XDG paths + a custom temporary DBus bus) which is setup via runGenericTest.sh and runDbusTest.sh (generated) scripts. 2. The tests register services under the same name (mostly org.freedesktop.Telepathy.ConnectionManager.testcm and a few more templates), so they can not run simultaneously. For now the only way to successfully run the tests is to run the `check` target. Something like `cmake --build . --target check` should work. It might be unfortunate but this is what we have. The bug has been closed via the following commit(s): https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=3cf606ad88c22272944642047b66efa0a948c2b9 commit 3cf606ad88c22272944642047b66efa0a948c2b9 Author: Andreas Sturmlechner <asturm@gentoo.org> AuthorDate: 2020-07-15 13:27:04 +0000 Commit: Andreas Sturmlechner <asturm@gentoo.org> CommitDate: 2020-07-15 13:27:23 +0000 net-libs/telepathy-qt: Disable StreamTubeHandlers test All others passed.
