Description Ákos Maróy 2004-11-22 20:28:38 UTC
kernel 2.6.9 reboots instead of powering off, when the poweroff command is used. does the same when swsusp2 is used, and one tries to suspend (at the end, instead of powering off, reboots)

this is still the case with gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r4

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. issue the poweroff command
2. see the system reboot, instead of power off
3.

Actual Results:
system reboots

Expected Results:
system should power off

this bug has been fixed with the patch provided at
http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3669
I thought it would be nice to include this patch in the gentoo kernel source
package...

I'm waiting for this patch to be merged upstream. As you can see there, the author has had zero feedback on his last patch. Maybe you could let him know it works? As soon as this is applied in Linus's tree I'll add it to our kernel.
