The same ebuild works for lxd-4.1
This is the first feature release following the release of 4.0 LTS. As a normal feature release, LXD 4.1 is only supported until 4.2 is released, usually about a month afterwards.

I only plan to support the LTS version of lxd, but I'd be happy to accept a co-maintainer to maintain those non-LTS versions.

I'd imagine LTS needs to be subslotted, and only that kept stabilized. Similarily to how it works with Firefox and Firefox ESR.

Yep. I'd like to wait for lxcfs-5.0.1 fix release since the 5.0.0 was unfinished and they've done a lot of fixing commits afterwards. I could do a patched snapshot release too, of course.

That gives me time to figure out the correct way to go forward with lxd. I'm thinking of just keeping lxd-5.0 as unstable for some time while providing lxd-4.0 versions in parallel, stabilizing them. I've also thought about "fakeslotting" lxd to provide stable versions for both 4-lts and 5-lts, but the developer community isn't too keen on fakeslotting since it fights against the slotting principles. So most likely, to not make things complicated, will probably just bump to 5.0 and wait for at least one or two minor releases before stabilizing it.

Anyway I'd like to get the updated release for lxcfs before doing anything.
