Most often this type of a failure is caused by hardware issues such as running out of RAM or over-heating.
One thing to try, might be re-starting the build by using the 'ebuild' command while also monitoring the hardware status, and see if it continues, or still fails at the same point.
Lowering the MAKEOPTS value often helps as a workaround in these cases.
Actually, the full log seems to have a different error. Was this with GCC-10? In file included from ../../3rdparty/chromium/third_party/leveldatabase/env_chromium.h:26, from gen/components/services/leveldb/public/mojom/leveldb.mojom-forward.h:108, from gen/components/services/leveldb/public/mojom/leveldb.mojom.h:29, from ../../3rdparty/chromium/components/services/leveldb/leveldb_mojom_traits.h:8, from ../../3rdparty/chromium/components/services/leveldb/leveldb_mojom_traits.cc:5: ../../3rdparty/chromium/third_party/leveldatabase/src/include/leveldb/env.h:345:3: error: ‘States’ does not name a type `$ gcc --version` shows: gcc (Gentoo 9.3.0 p2) 9.3.0 Hm. Are you updating from a previous version, or is this just a rebuild? If updating from, say, 5.13, I might try uninstalling the currently installed version, then try the build again. Please do create a binary package of the currently installed one in case the build fails, and you want to be able to roll back easy-like. This log is from a rebuild. I don't have any version of qtwebengine installed at the moment. Is there any other cleaning I could do? No, should not be necessary. Do you happen to have 'www-client/chromium' installed? Also, the timestamp of your Gentoo repository is, at least at the time of the report, somewhat behind (Tue, 07 Apr), and considering 'ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64 ~amd64"', you'd probably want to look into building 5.14.2 instead. :] I don't have www-client/chromium installed, but I do have www-client/google-chrome-stable installed. I will update my repo and try building 5.14.2 to see if this issue persists |
