Oh, I think we should add to the xine-lib ebuild a use variable for em8300 so that people can disable it even if the em8300 is installed. *** Bug 716 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** So these are going to be combined? I was thinking that for the sake of modularity, and being able to reinstall the kernel modules (for a new kernel build for instance) without rebuilding the libraries might be a convienance for many people (me included). oops; just thought it got submitted twice. Fixing. The current(=2-3-'02) source version is now 0.12 for both sources on http://dxr3.sourceforge.net. This version has some changes, see previously mentioned website for more information about the changes. I just wanted to let you know this, so more people could enjoy your ebuilds like i did. see comment on bug 716, this should probably be closed pending new version. updated to new version Changed some einfo statements and packaged the thing today, changed URL to reflect package location It doesn't seem like these have been added to the portage tree yet... Anyhow, I had a look at the ebuild, and all seems weel, with one exception. You determine the kernel module installation directory, based on the currently running kernel, whereas it seems to be the trend to decide that, based on the version of installed kernel sources (e.g. NVIDIA driver and alsa module). Have a look at how nvidia-kernel detects the kernel version. BTW, there is supposed to be $KV variable available, but I'm not sure whether it's safe to use it yet. Have a look at bug 599 for details. If you update this little aspect of the ebuild, I'll have no problem committing it. Thanks and sorry it took me so long to have a look. Ok I just updated this to use the KV variable that is preset (seems to work...) if that is going to start sucking, let me know... I also changed the src URI so that version number bumps should be easier. Committed. Thanks. |
