Steps to Reproduce:
1. gdmXnestchooser
2. select *any* known/working host
3. try to connect - screen vanishes

I am having the same experience. I have never actually seen the remote gdm work, so this isn't much of a surprise. I do have things configured correctly and expect this to not just have the screen disappear, even when using debug flags. Nothing in the logs either.
