Backgropund:

- Running a four-monitor-setup @ GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070 Ti]

- xrandr works;
- but even without xrandr setup:

- simply starting "open terminal" from awesome menu throws above error

- starting apps via "wmctrl -s nn" fails:
- - all apps start on the current tab,
- - each of them throws above error

  had been unresponive for ~ 8 months

According to the upstream issue this has already been fixed.
