Created attachment 603142 [details, diff] ntpd.service.patch Change the .service file to the preferred layout; good default configuration without conf.d environment variables. Users can do: systemctl edit ntpd.service To override the service startup behaviour. Also, ntpd supports --nofork and systemd maintainers prefer services to user the Type=simple startup method[1], so change that too.
