Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this issue. However, according to your build log, zig crashes in /var/tmp/portage/dev-lang/zig-0.5.0/work/zig-0.5.0/lib/std/build.zig, line 1841, due to an unhandled error. Following the code back to the error's possible origins, it was most likely caused by resource exhaustion. At this step, zig uses a considerable amount of memory on my machine. Your machine has been swapping. Have you checked if this may have caused the build to fail? this zig version is no longer present in gentoo |
