Description Marcos González 2004-11-07 06:07:47 UTC
From the web site:

"Coaster version 0.1.0 "It's been a long time waiting" is finally out the door! This is the initial release in the 0.1 development branch."

I know Foser is waiting for a gnome libburn based cd-toaster, so there you have the notice.

This is the initial release in the 0.1 development branch: says it all

also it uses libnautilus-burn, not libburn..plus requires two libs not in portage atm. (>=libxml++-2.6 and bakery)

Patch to fix sandbox violation.

There is a hardcoded directory in a make file, this fixes it.

why don't new versions of coaster and libburn go into portage already? gentoo users could and would make a great community for testing those appreciated steps and enhancements in CD/DVD burning area. The only thing stopping me and others from trying it out and maybe even start or push new projects that use libburn (rather than another cdrecord frontend) is the lack of ebuilds and up-to-date ebuilds in portage. please...
Comment 7 Joe McCann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-04 15:49:09 UTC
Please read previous comments before posting,

Gentoo has a responsibility to its users, and we can't support beta software in the tree. We need to be able to offer support for packages in our tree, or else there is no point to any of this. Gnome herd doesn't add development releases of packages into the portage tree.

If you did follow coaster/libburn development, you would know that no version of coaster uses libburn because of its slow/halted development. Coaster uses libnautilus-burn, which is available from portage in the nautilus-cd-burner package. Anybody seriously working on the project doesn't require ebuilds for it.

When coaster makes a stable release and doesn't rely on any unstable libs, then I promise we will add it. Please be patient until then, we do have lots of packages to maintain.

This ebuild should work also many dependencies are not in portage yet.
Sorry for posting a wrong ebuild above.
