Attempting Stage 1 Install using Minimal Live CD 2004.2 and stage1-x86-2004.2.tar.bz2 on a Dell Optiplex Pentium-3, 800 MHz with 256 MB RAM and 40 GB HDD.

at 6 hours into scripts/bootstrap.sh, bootstrapping experiences a fatal error and displays the following screen output:

my /etc/make.conf is derived from Daniel Robbins' highly commented make.conf file that is recommended in the Stage 1 and NPTL thread on the Documentation Tips and Tricks Gentoo Forum:

bootstrapping with ~arch is not supported
