Both the lzw issues and other bugs have been addressed in the 3.7.0 ebuild. How about trying that one instead? you can add "media-libs/tiff ~x86" to your packages.keywords to emerge. If you have a compelling requirement for a 3.6.1 fix then I'll take a look; otherwise, I'm swamped (it's not a huge deal, is it?). See http://www.remotesensing.org/libtiff/v3.7.0.html > it's not a huge deal, is it?
No, it's not. It's minor, so don't worry about it. ;)

tiff-3.6.1-r2.ebuild.patch
Here's a patch that adds a lzw-tiff? to the SRC_URI for that file.
Thanks for the patch; if anyone needs to patch 3.6.x then I recommend doing in your portage overlay using the above patch. Otherwise, I highly encourage everyone to try the 3.7.0 tiff ebuild. I've had several independent reports from Hylafax users that it works very smoothly now (and fixes several different problems). I'd like to get this marked stable so if you can, please try it and report back any bugs. |
