sorry but i'm not able to reproduce it. or maybe i don't get what you mean exactly. this is what installs for me when installing 4.2.0: # equery files libgig | grep so /usr/lib64/libgig/libakai.so /usr/lib64/libgig/libakai.so.0 /usr/lib64/libgig/libakai.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so.9 /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so.9.0.0 maybe the issue is that some other app depends on libgig.so.8.0.0 and needs to be recompiled to link against libgig.so.9.0.0? as 4.2.0 installs 9, not 8. anyway, you could try to unmerge libgig and emerge it again. Strange. Here's what I get: $ equery files libgig | grep so /usr/lib64/libgig/libakai.so /usr/lib64/libgig/libakai.so.0 /usr/lib64/libgig/libakai.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so.8 /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so.8.0.0 /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so.9 /usr/lib64/libgig/libgig.so.9.0.0 /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/Akai_8cpp_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/Akai_8h_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/DLS_8cpp_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/DLS_8h_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/Korg_8cpp_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/Korg_8h_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/RIFF_8cpp_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/RIFF_8h_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/SF_8cpp_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/SF_8h_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/Serialization_8cpp_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/Serialization_8h_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/classDLS_1_1Resource-members.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/classDLS_1_1Resource.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/classDLS_1_1Resource.js /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/classDLS_1_1Resource.png /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/gig_8cpp_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/gig_8h_source.html /usr/share/doc/libgig-4.2.0/html/typeinfo_8cpp_source.html In any case, unmerging and re-emerging libgig solves the problem--I should have tried that before posting this bug. I think media-sound/lmms was holding on to the old library, and somehow portage got confused. Thanks. Go ahead and close this. thanks for reporting back. closing it as invalid as i did not do any fix. |
