Description Tor Klingberg 2004-11-02 15:05:55 UTC
When I open this particular message in sylpheed-claws 0.9.12b-r1 I get a segmentation fault. The message is attached here. It is very large (4.5 MB), and has been created by a runnaway mailscript repeating itself. It is not intentionally malicious in any way.

Perhaps this is a security issue as well?

Could someone try to reproduce this, so we know it's not just my computer?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put the attached file somewhere where it will be recognized as a mail by sylpheed-claws. I use maildir as my mail storage format, so I just put it in ~/mail/somefolder
2. Open sylpheed-claws and open the message

Actual Results:
Segmentation fault

The mail that will crash sylpheed-claws (gzipped)

Gzipped because of bugzilla's size limit.

Are there any comments on this one? I will send it upstream otherwise.
Comment 3 Marius Mauch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-08 11:46:29 UTC
Well, I was unable to import that mail (somehow the maildir plugin seems to be broken here) and therefore I'm also unable to reproduce it.
Feel free to send it upstream.

I sent it upstream a month ago, but there was no reaction.
