FWICS this needs a version bump, and it looks like a major undertaking. Would creating a geopy-1.11.0-r1 supporting python-3.7 and above be a first step just to keep it away from the python 3.6 cleanup and then do a version bump later? Uptream list as dependency geographiclib geographiclib is now in GURU but I have no plans on sending the ebuild on ::gentoo unless someone helps me see https://bugs.gentoo.org/636338 see https://github.com/geopy/geopy/blob/61bbab8d041c819d15cb28249686220222e2a694/setup.py#L11 I bumped geopy in GURU Mass-closing bugs for removed packages. |
Created attachment 592390 [details] Updated ebuild The official geopy documentation states that it works with python 3.7; "geopy is tested against CPython (versions 2.7, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7)...". Currently it is not supported through portage. I updated the current ebuild and added 3_7 to PYTHON_COMPAT and have verified that it works in a script running python v3.7. I'll attach the updated ebuild. Cheers! /Henrik
